The Relapse Diagnostic Course

What’s Inside

THE RELAPSE DIAGNOSTIC COURSE

When things go wrong (or to help make sure they don’t) this course is here to help you understand the problem and get you back on track.
The Relapse Diagnostic Course
Section 1

Pulling it Apart

We’ll start with visual thinking exercises to get out of our heads. We’ll explore how the relapse happened, look at the systems around us, our context, as well as beliefs that may not be helping us.

Section 2

Be Kind to Yourself

We easily get caught up judging and hating ourselves for falling back into the old habits. But those judgments are heavy! They’ll only slow us down (or worse). So we’ll take a breather here to work on some very practical compassion skills.

Section 3

Putting it Back Together

Now that we’ve identified the actual problems, we’re going put together a new action plan with an understanding of changes to make, supports to bring into our lives, and the skills we need to practice proactively to sustain great mental health and fitness.

Outcomes

This course is about equipping you with skills and tools you can use forever to sustain healthy changes.

Visual Thinking Tools

You’ll get a range of visual thinking tools you can use with any challenge to get out of your head, see where things are going wrong, and identify where to focus your energy to make lasting changes.

Build Capacity

The course will help you develop an action plan, not just for getting back on track with the changes you want to make, but also for identifying and then developing capacity to be awesome at change throughout your life so you’re more resilient and ready to handle changes in the future.

Shift the Focus to Systems and Supports

A key purpose of the course is to help shift the focus to the systems around us that keep pushing us into compulsions. Learn how to make changes in those systems and bring in supports to help navigate them.

Access to a Skilled Coach

You’ll have access to TOOLKIT’s Head Coach, Mark Freeman, with over 10 years of experience sustaining his own recovery from mental illness and working with people around the world to support them on their adventures.

Mark Freeman

“When I struggled with a bunch of mental illness diagnoses, I was in this constant cycle of relapsing, getting angry at myself, trying to change just by being really angry at myself, and then relapsing again. I saw the problem very narrowly, thought it was just about having more willpower, and ignored all of the things I was doing inside and outside of my head to push me back into the same old problems. The tools I share in this course are the ones that helped me see the bigger picture, understand where I was going wrong, and how I could help myself not only avoid relapse, but thrive and leave those challenges behind. Now that I’ve maintained that recovery for over 10 years, I can genuinely say these are transformative skills and I hope you find them as useful on your journeys as I have on mine.”

After backsliding a bit with my mental health recently this course was a really great outlet to show that building good mental health in the long haul is easier than doing compulsions and making life more difficult. This course helped me to realize that all we can ever do is choose action we would like to take in the moment that can either be useful for ourselves or not so useful. Mark in general has really helped me with his content to view mental health as a practice rather than something people have or don’t. I’m looking forward to utilizing my notes and plan of action to building good mental health 🙂
